Rosenbloom family created Unicorn Children’s Foundation to affect worldwide change through the coordination of efforts among parents, professionals and policy makers, such that every child with any communication or learning disorder, of any severity, is given the greatest opportunity to reach his or her fullest potential.

Key Initiatives:
|
After Autism Speaks was launched, with a focus on researching the cause and cure of autism, UCF shifted its program priority to provide assistance to individuals and families affected by neurodevelopmental disorders.
Vision: Promote better collaboration among parents, professionals, and policy makers worldwide. This collaboration will lead to significant global impact and ensure that individuals facing developmental, communication, and learning challenges receive the essential resources needed to fully unlock their potential. Mission: Support education, raise awareness, and fund research programs and services. These initiatives aim to assist children with disorders that lead to developmental, communication, and learning challenges, extending support into their adulthood. |
Unicorn Children’s Foundation Mobile Developmental Clinics, operated in partnership with local universities, provide free screenings and parent referrals to support organizations where children identified at-risk can receive the appropriate treatment at the earliest age possible. It costs approximately $40 per child to be screened and identified early which will provide them the greatest chance of an improved future.
|
The introduction of the neurodiversity movement at UCF led to a significant shift in language. The leadership made a conscious decision to become agents of change, rather than merely catalysts for change.
Mission Expansion: Constructing communities that offer acceptance, support, and opportunities for individuals and families affected by neurodiversity. |
We launched the 211 Special Needs Hotline in Palm Beach County. This service serves as a single source of information and referrals for parents of special needs individuals, from diagnosis through school years and into the transition from young adulthood to employment.
|
Unicorn Children's Foundation developed a framework and initiated a pilot school for students with developmental differences. This special needs high school is designed to serve as a model that can be replicated in communities worldwide. The school focuses on providing students with the unique opportunity to master their life skills and vocational abilities through various community internships, while also fulfilling their academic requirements. Every graduate has successfully transitioned into employment or post-secondary programs.
Key Objectives: Providing leadership, education, and funding of innovative programs to ensure that individuals with neurodiversity are appropriately assisted, supported, and included in least restrictive ways to maximize their full potential. |
Bringing Everyone Together... |

|
Unicorn Children's Foundation offer scholarships for ESDM Parent Coaching. These scholarships equip parents with essential tools and strategies, fostering the development of crucial early developmental milestones in their children.
|
Unicorn Children's Foundation spearheads a first of its kind Community Needs Assessment. This assessment was focused on residents who are challenged by special needs, disability and mental health challenges. Giving them an opportunity to tell what services and supports are working, what needs improvement, and what is lacking. The assessment covered nearly every aspect of living including education, healthcare access, housing, transportation, employment, and social/recreational opportunities. Not only did the assessment help guide future program, it also lead to the creation of the Special Needs Advisory Coalition (SNAC), which brings together the community to collaboratively address priority needs.
