Are you feeling lucky? Unicorn Children’s Foundation to host 7 Day Heads or Tails Challenge featuring Cedric the Entertainer
Boca Raton FL – June 25, 2020 – The Unicorn Children’s Foundation will be hosting its first virtual fundraiser to support programs for children and adults with special needs. The 7 Day Heads or Tails Challenge, presented by Smart for Life, will take place daily between July 25 and July 31, 2020 with over $1,000 in prizes. To make this event even more exciting- one of the Original Kings of Comedy, Cedric the Entertainer will kick things off as a Featured Coin Tosser! Are you ready to take a “gamble” for our most vulnerable members of the community?
Here’s how it works. You pay a $50 entry fee and submit your daily selections of “heads” or “tails”. Each day at 5:00pm (EST), a special guest will greet you on Facebook, YouTube, and the Foundation’s website where a coin toss will take place. All entrants who guessed correctly will advance to the next day’s round. If you guessed incorrectly, you will have a maximum of 2 opportunities to buy back in to the game (must be consecutive to a day of loss) at $20 each. On the final day, the competition will conclude with a playoff match to determine the top 3 winners. First place will receive a gift card worth $500, second place will receive a gift card worth $250, and third place will receive a gift card worth $100. There will also be a variety of chance opportunities conducted throughout the week.
Funds raised will support cradle to career pathways for kids and young adults with special needs at the Unicorn Connection Center, a one stop shop to support families whose children have intellectual and developmental disabilities. 1 out of every 6 children will be diagnosed during their lifetime. The location will provide coaching, consultation, learning opportunities, recreation, vocational training, and employment opportunities for individuals with diverse abilities which are expected to improve health and wellness, social connections, and life skill development. Until such time as we are able to re-launch “in person” programs, many of these programs are being conducted virtually through Zoom meetings.
Sharon Alexander, CEO of Unicorn Children’s Foundation, states “While the pandemic has drastically impacted most of our lives, the degree of social isolation is even more challenging for families whose children have special needs. Our mission has become more important so that we can provide a life-line to these individuals and their families.”
