BOARD CHAIR Job Description: 1. Is a member of the Junior Board. 2. Is a partner with the CEO in achieving the organization's mission. 3. Provides leadership to the Junior Board. 4. Chairs meetings of the Junior Board after developing the agenda with UCF staff member. 5. Encourages Junior Board's role in strategic planning. 6. Appoints the chairpersons of committees, in consultation with other Junior Board members. 7. Attend Unicorn Children's Foundation Board of Directors Meetings and give a report as the representative for the Junior Board. 8. Discusses issues confronting the organization with the CEO. 9. Helps guide and mediate Junior Board actions with respect to organizational priorities and governance. 10. Reviews with the CEO any issues of concern to the Junior Board. 11. Plays a leading role in fundraising activities. 12. Informally evaluates the effectiveness of the Junior Board members. 13. Evaluates annually the performance of the Junior Board in achieving its mission. 14. Performs other responsibilities assigned by the Board.
VICE CHAIR Job Description: This position in typically successor to the Board Chair position. In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the Committee Member job description, this position: 1. Is a member of the Junior Board. 2. Performs Chair’s responsibilities when the Chair cannot be available (see Chair Job Description). 3. Reports to the Junior Board's Chair. 4. Works closely with the Junior Board Chair and other staff. 5. Participates closely with the Junior Board Chair to develop and implement officer transition plans. 6. Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Junior Board.
SECRETARY Job Description: 1. Is a member of the Junior Board. 2. Maintains records of the Junior Board and ensures effective management of organization's records. 3. Manages minutes of Junior board meetings. 4. Ensures minutes are distributed to members shortly after each meeting. 5. Ensures Chapter roster/listing of active members accurately reflects information. 6. Notify officers, committee members, and delegates of their election or appointment. 7. Send out notices of executive committee, board, and other meetings.
TREASURER Job Description: 1. Is a member of the Junior Board. 2. Manages finances of the Junior Board. 3. Provides annual budget to the Governing Board for members' approval.
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER Job Description: 1. Administrative officer takes the role of the any of the other officers when they are not present. 2. If neither the Chair nor Vice-Chair are present, the Admin Officer will run the meeting. 3. If the Treasurer is not present, the Admin Officer will do the financial report for the meeting. 4. If the Secretary is not present, the Admin Officer will take the meeting minutes.
