Breaking through Barriers

Individuals with developmental or learning challenges were negatively impacted by COVID in many ways. Those whom were not able to attend day programs or had to discontinue employment may have experienced isolation.

Unicorn Children's Foundation focused on the opportunity to offer programs to individuals around the world, eliminating geographic barriers, expanding social networks, and exposing individuals with developmental or learning challenges to educational opportunities that they would not otherwise have available.

We are proud to serve communities across the US and beyond!

Through our virtual programming, we are now able to serve individuals across the US. For more information about our virtual programs, see below...

Summer Connection Program Description

Unicorn Children's Foundation is teaming up with Songs of Life Music Therapy to offer an interactive music group and a hands-on class in theater performance, script writing, and scenery creation. In partnership with Right on Q Theatre Group, participants will explore theatrical techniques including puppetry & improvisation. In addition, participants will relax the mind and body through meditation and gentle stretching with Yogability Fit.

We will explore music through instrument playing, singing, collaborative songwriting, and performance. Participants will utilize the power of music for self-expression and social connection. We will engage in theater games, writing original scenes, acting, and creating props and set pieces for the stage. Through both creative and performing arts, the group will focus on expressive writing, visual artmaking, confidence building, collaboration, and connection.

A performance opportunity will be available for those who wish to share their creations at the end of the program!

**Orientation held on June 15 at 9am for all Summer Connection Program program participants and their families.**
