Josh Blue Headlines Unicorn Children’s Foundation 2022 Gala

Picture
Boca Raton, FL – April 18, 2022 – On March 26, 2022, The Unicorn Children’s Foundation hosted its 2022 Gala at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. This was our first major event in-person since the pandemic, and a reunion of all of our supporters! Proceeds of the gala support the creation of cradle to career pathways for kids and young adults with developmental differences and help their families navigate the complex journey.

Josh Blue, the winner of Last Comic Standing 2006 and a finalist of America's Got Talent 2021, headlined the evening with a hilarious standup routine. Critics have said Josh is not a cerebral palsy comic; he’s a comic who happens to have cerebral palsy. Unicorn Children's Foundation is proud to have partnered with Josh Blue to demonstrate that people with developmental differences can be capable and contributing members of society when so many are disconnected and isolated.

From wonderful vacations courtesy of AmFund to a ride on the Goodyear Blimp, guests bid on fabulous prizes, as they enjoyed an evening hosted by emcee, Aaron the Speaker. Event Chairs Angela Fisher (DLD Management Corporation) and Phillip DiPonio (Wyndham Boca Raton) kept the excitement going with surprises in every corner, including a light-up robot joining guests on the dance floor!

The night was all about the mission! The volunteers included some of our class participants wearing purple unicorn shirts to greet guests as they entered. There was also mission-driven vendors selling their products during the cocktail hour, including Uniquely Gifted Boutique, My Voice in Colors, Sea Turtle Adventures, ScentsAbility, Natural Dog Treats & Bakery, and aZul - Fashion, Art & Design.

With 1 of every 6 children affected by some form of intellectual or developmental difference, most of us have experienced the challenges first-hand or know someone who has.  A big thank you to this year’s sponsors: Diane Lynn Family Foundation, Inc., Valeria & Mike Rosenbloom Family Foundation, The Event Group Design & Décor, Jane Davis, BDO, Holman Motorcars Fort Lauderdale, Stellar Communications, Silvana and Barry Halperin, Wyndham Boca Raton, Pedego Electric Bikes, Mark Rosenbloom, MD, Trimaran Advisors of Raymond James, My Simple Techs, UBS, Greene’s Reserve, JustCBD, Green Roads, and Simply the Best Magazine.
