Ain't No Mountain High Enough To Keep You Away Unicorn Ball gets down with Motown (and a delightful opera-singing sensation)
When a South Florida taxi driver auditioned for an iconic TV show, the audience was wowed, offering repeated standing ovations. “America’s Got Talent” fans were dazzled.
They adored the opera singer’s enchanting voice. As well as his endearing personality. “Everybody in America right now is saying ‘I love You,’ ” declared Howie Mandel, as each judge offered an enthusiastic nod of approval. Now, we’re offering the incredible opportunity to savor the talents of this amazing opera-singing taxi driver from Miami in person. Carlos De Antonis is performing at Unicorn Ball: Get Down with Motown February 16 at The Polo Club of Boca Raton.
And you’re invited.
While enjoying this fun event, you’ll also be doing a kind thing for a wonderful non-profit organization that supports youngsters and young adults with special needs. Unicorn Children’s Foundation creates cradle to career pathways to help people with autism, attention deficit disorder and other special needs excel in their communities.
The annual Unicorn ball is a premiere fundraising event for the foundation. And for the February 16th event, organizers are kicking it with a fun, flashy, and definitely fantastic Motown theme.
“Everything we’ve planned will be an experience you don’t want to miss,” says event co-chair Julissa Caballero. “We have a very interactive element when you first walk in that has not been done before. If you like to “Get Down,” you’re going to love our After Party. Our swag bags are fabulous as well --- just saying!”
The After-Party features a live band performing your favorite Motown hits, dancing --- of course, yummy Motor City soul food and exciting auctions. Relish the opportunity to bid on such extravagant items as 7th-row tickets for Elton John's Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in Sunrise in March. Even Carlos De Antonis is getting in on the action. He’s offering a surprise auction item that we suspect involves something up-close and personal with him.
“We decided to go with the Motown theme since it is the 60th Anniversary,” says co-chair Phillip DiPonio. “The dance floor will be packed!!”
In a heart-warming element for the evening, Unicorn Children’s Foundation is honoring Haley Moss, a South Florida woman who was admitted to the Florida Bar 21 years after she was diagnosed with autism. Haley, who gave a commencement speech at the University of Miami School of Law, is receiving the prestigious Occhigrossi Family Youth in Service Award. The award recognizes young people who are doing exceptional work to increase acceptance, support and opportunities for individuals challenged by special needs.
“I hope (the public) will get excited about this great event and purchase tickets to what will be a fantastic night filled with great music, outstanding auction items, delicious food, and most importantly, support children with special needs,” DiPonio says.
We’d love for you to hop aboard our Soul Train-esque event. Purchase your tickets here. And prepare to party!
