Unicorn Children's Foundation Casino Night Sparkles
Guests enjoyed signature cocktails, Plastaritas and Rummy Tucks, generously sponsored by Plastic Surgery Specialists of Boca Raton, while viewing and bidding on the wonderful silent auction items, as well as the Chinese raffle. The real excitement started when the doors opened to the casino and guests scattered to Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, Craps, and Slots, all provided by Casino Party Nights Florida, Inc.. The air booth proved to be great fun with guest grabbing for prize coupons. The energy was high, and trays of cocktails and delicious food kept the gamblers roll’in
The evening raffle winners were thrilled with prizes from generous donors. Susan Morantes won the beautiful earrings from Gregory’s Fine Jewelers, Don Knapp won the 50/50 Cash Raffle, and Terry Raskyn was the proud winner of a two-year lease for a C300 or GLK automobile from Mercedes-Benz of Delray. Unicorn’s Executive Director Sharon Alexander expressed, “We couldn’t have done this without the support of our generous sponsors: Howard Goldfarb Foundation, Plastic Surgery Specialists of Boca Raton, Howard J. Gelb, M.D. Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, Goya Foods of Miami, Wax No More, Skin Apeel Day Spa, One Thousand Ocean, and the Boca Raton Observer.”
Event chair, Lori Cabrera, explained “The generosity of our sponsors and guests will support the development of on innovative high school for 14-22 year old adolescents with developmental and learning differences that will foster social, emotional, and academic student development using the individual’s own strengths and interests as the foundation for learning.” With nearly 1 of every 5 children affected by some form of these disorders, this program will help to fill a significant void in the community and will become a model that can be expanded into other communities around the world.
