Unicorn Children's Foundation Announces 2011 Gala

 

Boca Raton, FL – November 1, 2010  Unicorn Children’s Foundation Vice-President and Gala Co-Chair Juliette Ezagui welcomed guests to her lovely home on September 28, 2010 to announce the details of the foundation’s upcoming Gala.  A cross-section of community leaders, business professionals and philanthropists from the greater South Florida area and beyond will enjoy An Evening Aboard the Orient Express on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the exclusive Mar-a-Lago Club, in Palm Beach, Florida

                                

“We are so excited to once again present our patrons with an exquisite evening, the likes of which have not graced the elegant Grand Ballroom of Mar-a-Lago” shared Juliette Ezagui.  “Unicorn Children’s Foundation is so fortunate to have the support of so many talented and selfless individuals who will help us create this magical experience.”  Among the invited guests at this kick-off luncheon were honorees Madeline Hillsberg and Patricia Riley.

 

Unicorn will also present its annual awards at the gala.  Michelle and Ron Yellin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Highland Beach, Florida will receive the designation of Unicorn Grand Ambassadors in recognition of their extraordinary leadership and generous long-term support of the foundation.  Karen and Dan Swanson of Palm Beach will receive the Unicorn Children’s Foundation Founder’s Award in recognition of those who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the organization.  Smart for Life/Underway will receive Unicorn Children’s Foundation Shining Star Award for their support in promoting awareness of the Unicorn’s mission.

 

Proceeds from this event will help make a difference for the 80,000+ children in South Florida affected by developmental, communication and/or learning disorders.  Highlights of the foundation’s  projects include: promoting early identification of symptoms associated with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, bipolar, dyslexia, or other learning disorders through our expanding free Mobile Community Developmental Clinic Program; supporting programs designed to develop and disseminate evaluation and treatment guidelines through Unicorn sponsored programs at major universities; creating an Alliance of Special Needs Service Providers and Organizations to foster communication and collaboration across disciplines so that the gaps in services and programs in our community can be more readily identified; and educating parents and professionals through educational programs to ensure the availability of adequate tools and resources
