Unicorn Children's Foundation Hits the Jackpot! (December 5, 2011)
Boca Raton FL – December 5, 2011– Unicorn Children’s Foundation first fundraiser of the season, the 4th Annual Denim, Diamonds, and Dice Casino Night, was a smashing success! The event, which honored Gregory and Mary Ann Fried, raised over $70,000 to support the opening of Unicorn Village High School, an innovative high school that will prepare 14 – 22 year old adolescentswith neuro-diverse disorders for life. Event Chairs Sarah Hassan and Constance Josanu-Melman greeted nearly 200 patrons who arrived at Broken Sound Country Club in their denim and sparkling diamonds. Guests were offered a chance to play their hands and roll the dice at exciting gaming provided by Casino Party Nights Florida that was reminiscent of a high-rollers night in Las Vegas. Josanu-Melman exclaimed, “We couldn’t have done this without the support of our generous sponsors: Judy Markhoff, Plastic Surgery Specialists of Boca Raton, Howard J. Gelb, M.D. Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, Gregory’s Fine Jewelry, and NAV-TVCorp.” Winners were thrilled with fabulous prizes, including a spectacular 14kt gold diamond heart pendant from Gregory’s Fine Jewelry and a trip to Las Vegas. Lady Luck was certainly on the side of Zach Milchman who walked away triumphant as the last man standing in the Texas Hold’Em Tournament. Hassan expressed, “Tonight is certainly a winner for children and young adults affected by neuro-diverse disorders! The generosity of our sponsors and guests will make it possible for students to discover and explore their own interests, pursue their own goals, and ultimately find a place in the communities where they live.” Nearly 1 of every 5 individuals is affected by some form of neuro-diverse disorder, such as: Autism, ADHD, Asperger’s, Bipolar, Dyslexia, and other learning disorders. Unicorn Village Academy will help to fill a significant void in the community and will become a model that can be expanded into other communities around the world. Anticipated opening of this program is projected for August 2012. Make sure to stay tuned for Unicorn Children’s Foundation’s upcoming events… The Best Is Yet To Come!
