Unicorn to Auction Goodyear Blimp Ride During Gala (February 25, 2008)
Boca Raton, FL – February 25, 2008 – One of the most sought-after live auction items at the Unicorn Children's Foundation’s (UCF) 10thAnniversary Gala is certain to be a 30-minute ride for 6 people in the newest Goodyear blimp, the Spirit of Innovation. The 2008 UCF Gala, Key to the Golden Palace, will be held on Friday, March 7th at Palm Beach’s most legendary private venue. Attendees will be able to not only participate in a silent auction featuring more than 100 selections, but also in a live auction with six elegant offerings from donors, including “pearl queen” Ellagem and Rosenberg Diamonds & Co.. UCF’s 2008 Gala Co-Chair Ibe May indicated that “We anticipate vigorous competition in the bidding for the Goodyear Blimp ride as you can’t purchase these rides.” The Spirit of Innovation is the newest member of the fleet, based in Pompano Beach, FL. Designated a GZ (Goodyear-Zeppelin) 20A, the airship is 192 feet long, 59.5 tall, and 50 feet wide and is supported by a crew of sixteen. In addition to the live and silent auctions, Gala festivities will include a raffle, special entertainment, dinner and dancing, and recognition of significant contributions by individuals. Proceeds from the auction and gala evening will benefit the Unicorn Children’s Foundation, a South Florida organization supporting education, awareness, and research programs on behalf of children with developmental and communication challenges.
