Stacey Hoaglund |
Stacey Hoaglund is the founder and CEO of S.H. Consultants, Inc which is an agency providing education and advocacy for professionals and families of special needs populations. Stacey has held a position with Family Network on Disabilities of Broward County, Florida as a Family Support Specialist for 11 years, where she has advocated for children with disabilities.
Stacey has held numerous committee positions, including President of the Autism Society Broward, Broward Chapter; Board Member of the Autism Society of Florida; Chairperson of Trainings in Transition; Chair of the Autism Committee of Exceptional Student Education; Special Needs Advisory Council with the Children’s Services Council; Focus Group Facilitator for the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council Medicaid Waiver Project; and many others.
Stacey has conducted trainings for parents and organizations, such as the Autism Society, United Way, Children's Services Councils, CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities), the Pediatric Society, school districts, Nova University/Florida International University, Family Central Central, Boys and Girls Clubs, ARCs, etc on such topics as Early Identification and Intervention, Learn the Signs/Act Early, Autism 101, Developmental Milestones, FSP/IEP development, Collaboration Home to School, Inclusion, Meaningful Experiences through Adaptations, etc. Stacey's advocacy efforts extend to the state capitol every year where she collaborates in DD Day and World Autism Day events, as well as support of Children's Week through an art project produced by preschoolers with disabilities. Her contact with local and state officials, allow her to advocate on a more systemic level.
Above all else, Stacey is the mom to two wonderful boys; the younger of which has autism. It is through his diagnosis and her passion for her children that she finds joy in her profession.
